Speakers Biographies


Allana Alexander, PharmD, MSMTM

Clinical Pharmacist
VIVA Health

Dr. Allana Alexander obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology/Nutritional Sciences from the University of Florida and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy (MSOP) in Birmingham, Alabama. She went on to complete a PGY-1 Managed Care Pharmacy residency at VIVA Health, Inc. and a Master of Science in Pharmacy in Medication Therapy Management degree from the University of Florida. After completing her residency, Allana chose to stay with Viva Health and serve as a clinical pharmacist for the Alabama Care Plan, Health Home Region B.

During her time at Viva Health, Dr. Alexander has developed and implemented a comprehensive medication review training program, provided medication therapy management platform training for clinical staff, as well as organized a smoking cessation program specialized for Viva Medicaid patients. Dr. Alexander has also developed educational materials for pediatric and low literacy patients, performed medication reconciliations and home visits for Alabama Medicaid Patient 1st recipients. She has presented original research at the 2016 Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California. Dr. Alexander is one of three clinical pharmacists on the Health Home Region B team that addresses and alleviates common barriers to medication adherence.

Dr. Alexander serves as a preceptor for the MSOP chapter of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association as well as guest lecturer, student elective and lab co-facilitator at MSOP. She is an active member of the Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Minority Women Pharmacist Association.

Cynthia Will, RPh

Cindy Will received a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1986. She worked for 17 years at a staff model HMO pharmacy in Buffalo, New York, where she was primarily responsible for consulting with in-house physicians and counseling patients on prescriptions and delivery devices. Cindy transitioned to Independent Health as a Medication Therapy Management pharmacist in 2009. In her role as an MTM pharmacist, she performs telephonic and in-person comprehensive medication reviews. Cindy also performs targeted medication reviews focused on Medicare Star Ratings Measures, which positively contributes to IHA maintaining its 4.5 Overall Star Rating.

Randa Abdelal, PharmD, BCPS, cMTM

Randa is currently a clinical pharmacist and the MTM coordinator at Jefferson Health - Stratford NJ Division. Jefferson Health New Jersey is an integrated healthcare delivery system providing a full continuum of healthcare services, ranging from acute-care hospitals to a broad spectrum of outpatient and wellness programs. A multi-site healthcare provider, Jefferson Health New Jersey serves the residents of Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties.

Randa's main roles include serving as the main Internal medicine/Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist on the designated Geriatric floor (ACE unit) as well as the Geriatric Preceptor/Mentor for all 3 pharmacy residents.

Randa received her PharmD degree from UAMS in Little Rock Arkansas in 2003. Randa received her PharmD degree from UAMS in Little Rock Missouri in 2003 and then subsequently got BCPS certified in 2015. Once Randa started at Jefferson Health NJ, she was asked to spearhead the initiative of starting an MTM service for the NJ division healthcare system which initially went from a one practice setting to now covering six medical offices offering MTM services to their designated patients.

In addition to her responsibilities to the MTM outpatient services, Randa also is involved in effectively executed team goals, strategies, and activities within the pharmacy department and hospital organization to develop and maintain optimum levels of hospital policies, procedures, and protocols. She takes on the role of implementing new and modified guidelines as well as identifies and develops strategies to reduce overall drug cost while ensuring patient outcome and efficacy are not being compromised.

Mark Gregory, RPh

Mr. Gregory joined Omnicell in July 2014. He was most recently Senior Vice President of Store Operations, and previously Vice President of Pharmacy and Government Relations for Kerr Drug, Inc based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Responsibilities included all store operations, oversight of pharmacy systems and automation, managed care contracting, store support, pharmacy administration, operational policies and procedures, patient care and compliance programs, university relationships and government affairs activities. He also served as Kerr Drug’s Privacy Officer and Chairman of Kerr Drug’s PAC.

Mark Gregory graduated in 1982 from Ohio Northern University and in October 2011 was awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award. He was a practicing pharmacist for 11 years when he assumed corporate positions as Manager of Pharmacy Systems and Third Party Programs at Thrift Drug Company in Pittsburgh, PA. After the acquisition of Thrift Drug by the Eckerd Corporation, Mark worked for a brief period of time in pharmacy operations for Eckerd.

Gary Melis R.Ph.

Clinical Pharmacist

Gary Melis is a Clinical Pharmacist for the past six years at Network Health, a local health insurance provider in Northeast and Southeast Wisconsin. He is currently one of two pharmacists involved making MTM calls in-house. His responsibilities also involve NCQA, pharmacy appeals, P&T Committee, Member and Provider relations.

Gary’s also has experience as pharmacy manager for a national long term care company, pharmacy manager for retail pharmacy chain, and Pharmacy Director for a National Health Care provider. He has also been a pharmacy instructor at local medical college family practice clinic.

Anitha Nagelli

Clinical Pharmacist/Coordinator/Assistant Professor
UI Health/University of Illinois at Chicago

Dr. Anitha Nagelli obtained her Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Education and Masters in Education in Hyderabad India. She subsequently received her Doctor or Pharmacy and Masters in Public Health with a focus on Health Policy and Administration from University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Her work in the pharmacy practice spans 18 years, in which she has worked in almost every area in Inpatient, Outpatient and Management.

Currently Anitha is the coordinator of an innovative patient care delivery model in the UI Health Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Department. Anitha collaborates with pharmacies and clinical services to envision, architect and implement value based services across the pharmacy care continuum. Anitha has been able lead the a scalable non-appointment pharmacy based model of patient care delivery that incorporates Medication Reconciliation, Medication synchronization, Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and Disease State Management into the work flow of the pharmacy.

Dr. Nagelli is part of the UI Health Ambulatory Care Departments Administrative team and works closely with Managers and administrations in operational efficiencies, value based service lines, clinical collaborations, revenue stream explorations, adherence, safety and cost areas.

Anitha is extensively involved in designing and delivering didactic training and education of Pharmacists, Students, Residents and Nurses. She is works with IPPE and APPE and PGY1 and PGY2 residents as a preceptor.

Dr. Nagelli is a passionate pharmacist who is committed to advocating for value based patient centered care and top-of-the-licensure pharmacy practice.

Vivian Tambe-Ebot, Pharm.D., MBA

Director of Pharmacy

Vivian graduated with a Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy from Midwestern University College of Pharmacy – Glendale Arizona in 2005, and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from John's Hopkins University - Carey Business School in 2010. After her Doctorate in Pharmacy, she completed a PGY1 General Practice Residency at St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona in 2006, where she subsequently practiced for several years as a clinical pharmacist. Her passion for continued growth in Pharmacy Practice has awarded her over 13 years of growing leadership experience in several settings of Pharmacy Practice, such as managed care, clinical informatics, health system and ambulatory care. She currently serves as a Director of Pharmacy at AgeWell NewYork where she ensures Medicare Part D regulatory compliance, manages processes and programs to improve the health of populations and reduces the cost of health care through Medication Therapy Management, Disease Management Programs, Formulary Management and Quality Improvement Activities.

Frances B. McGaugh, Pharm.D

Frances McGaugh is the Pharmacy Clinical Programs manager at Community Health Plan of Washington where she oversees a team of pharmacists who support and partner with the network community health centers to help them to achieve their clinical as well as HEDIS and STARS goals.

Prior to her current position, Frances worked as a clinical pharmacist focused primarily on Medicaid formulary benefit design for CHPW. For 7 years she worked as a consultant pharmacist for several long term and skilled nursing facilities assisting with clinical chart reviews and compliance with CMS requirements. She has always been active with the UW School of Pharmacy through her commitment as a preceptor to students and by participating as a faculty presenter.

Frances has always sought out opportunities to use her skills to benefit underserved populations. She volunteered for two years at the Seattle Indian Health Board and has participated as a pharmacist in overseas medical mission trips. She has gained experience working in both residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment facilities, a homeless medical clinic, and a WA state residential facility for persons with developmental disabilities. She has also proudly served in the US Air Force (active duty) and Air National Guard.

Jan Pringle, PhD

Dr. Pringle is an epidemiologist by training, with extensive experience in health services research. She is a Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Pharmacy, and the founder and Director of the Program Evaluation Research Unit (PERU) within the University of Pittsburgh, School of Pharmacy. Her area of expertise is health services research and organizational health, especially as it relates to healthcare innovation implementation. She has conducted numerous health services research studies and program evaluation efforts involving (but not limited to): screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT), innovative addiction treatment approaches, chronic disease intervention and prevention models, medication adherence interventions, and patient access to care improvement efforts. She has also developed a framework for assessing organizational health and guiding systems transformation, which has been used with the Veterans Health Administration, primary care practices, and Integrated Care practices, among other health care sites and entities. Throughout her career, Dr. Pringle has secured over $140 million in grants from a variety of sources, and she has developed healthcare policy research and briefs that have been used to inform policy development at both the state and federal level.

Morgan Jones, PharmD, MS, BCACP

Morgan Jones, PharmD, MS, BCACP is a Primary Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Jones earned a Master's degree in Chemistry from Western Kentucky University and a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Belmont University. Dr. Jones completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Mayo Clinic-Rochester and a PGY-2 pharmacy practice ambulatory care residency with emphasis in academia at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Dr. Jones works with an interprofessional team within the Internal Medicine Department at Cleveland Clinic Independence Family Health Center while also serving as residency coordinator for the PGY2 ambulatory pharmacy residency. She has a scope of practice to start, stop, adjust, and monitor medications and has helped to establish virtual visits within the primary care pharmacy practice.

Kelly Verrall, R.Ph.

Kelly Verrall, R.Ph. is Director of Pharmacy Quality and MTM at Independent Health in Buffalo, NY. Kelly is a graduate of Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. She started her career in retail pharmacy and also worked for a short time in hospital pharmacy. She has been working in Managed Care at Independent Health for 20 years. Kelly has been responsible for MTM at Independent Health since 2006 when CMS first launched MTM through Medicare Part D. She is also responsible for initiatives to improve the plan's HEDIS, STAR, and NY State's QARR pharmacy related quality measures.

Jose Diaz-Luna, PharmD, RPh

Jose Diaz-Luna is the Corporate Director of Pharmacy at Trusted Health Plan in Washington, DC. He received his pharmacy degree from St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions. Jose is a proud veteran of the US Army Medical Corps. During his career Jose has worked in both clinical and managerial positions as Pharmacist in Charge, Pharmacy District Manager, and Director of Pharmacy. Jose has practice pharmacy in a varied setting including hospital, retail, long term care, compounding and managed care. Jose is also Adjunct Faculty at Howard University College of Pharmacy. Jose was selected as the Howard University Administrative APPE Preceptor of the year in 2015 and received the Washington DC Pharmacy Association Excellence in Innovation award in October 2015. Jose is an active member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacies.

Tracey Davis, PharmD

Dr. Tracey Davis is the Director of Pharmacy at AmeriHealth Caritas DC, which is a managed care organization in the DC market. AmeriHealth Caritas DC works to innovatively service their members through integrated health care and member driven services. As Director of Pharmacy, Dr. Davis holds responsibilities as the Pharmacy Liaison to the state, collaborator with the Medical Director, Case Management, and the Executive team to reach the health plans quality goals, community outreach, and oversight of the PBM. Dr. Davis specializes in policy development and change management. She is a passionate pharmacist with an extremely diverse background. Over the last 17 years, she has worked in hospital, retail and managed care pharmacies, and also for a government health plan. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy from Howard University and has also earned certification in MTM (medication therapy management) and completed a general practice residency in 2004. She believes that evolution requires us to aspire to be more. Dr. Davis lives in Maryland, where you'll find her playing golf or teaching yoga. She also delights in taking her children to the park.

Meredith Adlesic, PharmD

Meredith Adlesic joined Highmark's Clinical Pharmacy Operations team in 2017. As the Stars Vertical Lead for Pharmacy, she works along with the Government Quality, Medication Therapy Management, Case and Disease Management and Utilization Management teams to achieve Stars goals. Meredith has implemented new programs and helped enhance the performance of existing programs both within Highmark and their external partners. Prior to her current position, Meredith has worked in managed care as a supervisor for Medicare Part D Coverage Determinations and Appeals. She also has several years of experience in retail pharmacy where she was a manager, organized district flu clinics and delivered MTM. Meredith received her PharmD from Duquesne University in 2007.

Kent Holdcroft

Kent Holdcroft joined PharmMD in March 2013, bringing over a decade of operational, consulting, and sales experience in the healthcare technology and services industry. His leadership at PharmMD has quickly expanded well beyond the management of business development, client negotiations, and relationships, taking on integral roles in marketing operations and product development. His charismatic personality is helping shape the culture of this rapidly growing team. "PharmMD holds the potential to be a game-changer," comments Holdcroft. "This team is focused on being the market innovator as emerging regulatory requirements position our solutions to return millions of dollars to our customers, reducing cost, and building healthier lives."

Holdcroft came to PharmMD following multiple successes with AIM Healthcare (now a part of Optum, a United Health Group, Inc. company), rising to National Director as it expanded into new markets. He was a key player as a part of Optum’s growth strategy representing all of Optum's provider-facing solutions. He managed healthcare accounts in the community hospital, academic medical center, integrated delivery network, as well as a variety of managed care plans and government settings. Actively involved in the community, Holdcroft currently serves on the Board of Directors at BrightStone, Inc., and as a Stephen Minister. Holdcroft holds a BA in Psychology from the Miami University and a MA in Counseling from The University of Toledo.

Brookann Barkley

As a Senior Sales Associate, Brookann manages opportunities to bring OutcomesMTM solutions to plan sponsors in the Western region of the United States. She helps plans learn how medication therapy management (MTM) can help them achieve their goals and guides them in selecting solutions that best fits their population’s needs. Brookann has facilitated numerous

program implementations over the course of her 10-year career with the company. In addition, she monitors MTM-related trends in the marketplace and assists with development of new products to help health plans keep pace with changing requirements for MTM. Brookann graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.
